Sooo after talking to Boss-man yesterday I feel a wee bit better.

I don't have to be there before the end of this month/week. I can come any time, really, and work, without necessarily having my pharmacist license. So that's good. I told him I was waiting to take the MPJE for HI still aaaand the 2nd week in August is okay with him.

I also have an address for where I will be living!! :D It's right on the beach. I'm so freaking lucky.

I'm still on pins and needles about my NAPLEX score. I'm really worried that I'm not going to hear back from the BOP in a timely fashion about that, or from the NABP about taking the HI MPJE. According to the nice executive director of the BOP in HI, she's already approved me to take it, but... So far I haven't heard anything. :/ I'm hoping to know something by the end of the week. I'm HOPING (kinda sorta not) to get my NAPLEX score by Monday. Otherwise, I'm going to be lost with anxiety again. If I failed it... well... just expect copious amounts of tears and vomit.

In the meantime, J's last day of work is tomorrow! :)

I guess this is all happening! Eventually...

So I'm all gradumatated and a doctor of pharmacy now. Yay! I am technically happy about that.

I've accepted a job in Maui. And I've taken 2 out of my 3 licensing exams. I have taken the SC law exam, which I found out yesterday I passed and I'm waiting on my NAPLEX results. That test was horrible, btw, and I will be.. very pleasantly surprised if I pass. I'm still waiting to get permission to take the HI law exam.

Which brings me to my current ulcer inducing situation. Originally, I was supposed to be in Maui by the end of the month. However, as I have yet to receive permission to take the HI law exam, I doubt I will be able to take it before the end of the month. Which means I probably won't be licensed to work in HI as a pharmacist until the middle of August sometime. So... I'm waiting to talk to my HI boss to see what he wants me to do.

1- Arrive by the end of the month, regardless of my licensing status- work as an intern?
1a- Do I need a HI intern license or will the SC one suffice?
1b- Licensing exam on Oahu?
1c- God forbid, what if I don't pass the NAPLEX?

2- If not, when to arrive? Post HI license?
--> upswing would be that plane tix are cheaper.

3- Training!?!

4- Where in Kihei is the condo? What do I need to bring (ie bed linens etx)?

ugh. please please please let everything work out smoothly.

Quality Time
with a secondary love language being
Physical Touch.

Information

Unhappiness in relationships, according to Dr. Gary Chapman, is often due to the fact that we speak different love languages. Sometimes we don't understand our partner's requirements, or even our own. We all have a "love tank" that needs to be filled in order for us to express love to others, but there are different means by which our tank can be filled, and there are different ways that we can express love to others.

..."It's hard to say what exactly precipitated this behavior," said Colleen McCann, a primatologist at the Bronx Zoo. "At the end of the day, they are not human and you can't always predict their behavior and how they or any other wild animal will respond when they feel threatened."...

Take out the clause "they are not human" and what do you get? A vague reference to human behaviour... hmmmmmm?

So chimp lives as a human and.. flips out like a human.  I dunno, I guess I just find people's shock somewhat baffling.  Why would they think that a chimp would be that much more different than a human or... if you don't expect then to be that different, why so shocked at what happened? :p I dunno... I guess i just found some of the statements ironic... or is it conincidental?

for school. REALLY!

I'm having a rough time right now.

I brought Chooki home from the vet last Tuesday, after opting for the urohydropulsion.  They told me it wasn't 100% and i knew it going into the decision, but I was hoping it would buy Chooki some time.. Like after next year, where I could hopefully have some money and I dunno...

Anyways... I brought him home Tuesday night. He had a steroid shot and an antibiotic shot to carry him over. So i had him quarantined in the bathroom for a while, waiting for a good normal stool.

Well I came home from rotation this past Monday and well.. he was having problems again. He's not out and out obstructed, but... bottom line, its probably kinda painful when he pees. And at times he bleeds. sorry if that was TMFI.

So i took him back to the vet and they offered pain meds and amitriptyline, with the idea that those two would help him be comfortable peeing. Also, i'm supposed to 'reduce his stress level'... He seemed to be okay Wednesday night, enough that i let him out of the bathroom overnight, but he woke me up the next morning, crying..
So i've been keeping him doped up, but i'm not sure that its... working... He still seems to be pretty uncomfortable and having difficulty, in his head at least, about peeing.

So i know that this is about all i can do for him right now, and I know its not enough.. Nothing I can do will be enough, unfortunately.
I'll be leaving to go out of town in about a week and half and I don't know what to do for him.  I don't know how i'm supposed to leave for almost 3 weeks and not be crazy wtih worry while I'm gone.
I'm going to look into the cost of boarding him for the week or so that mom won't be here to take care of him... but i'm worried that it will be cost-prohibitive. I don't know anyone that i trust enough to take care of him here..

Mai heart hurts and i'm tired of feeling nauseous.

Sooo, chooki is back at the vet's again.

Yesterday morning he started spotting blood and generally seeming to be uncomfortable, so J and I rushed him to the ER vet. Fortunately he wasn't obstructed. However, they were able to express lots of stones. Xray has revealed that his bladder is.. basically full of stones.

They think they're calcium oxalate stones. Again. He's been on the special diet, ever since his PU surgery last year, to prevent him from having these stones again. So the fact that we've failed in preventing recurrence of the stones by really the only mechanism there is (dietary)...
I dunno. It just doesn't bode well for my grumpy old man.

So the Er vet gave me 2 options- a cystotomy, where they cut him open and physically remove the stones.. or a urohydropulsion, where they try to flush the stones out. I can't see putting Chooki through another major surgery, seeing as he's 15 years old and most likely.. these stones are going to happen again, its just a matter of time. Plus, its kinda expensive and well, i'm still trying to pay off last years $3k PU surgery.

so i've opted for the hydropulsion... which is not guaranteed to be 100%. So... Just please, if you like kitties... can you say a little prayer to the gods that govern kitty's lives. We need a good day tomorrow please. Tillman and i need our grumpy buddy back.

I like this quote.

According to MSN.com...
Horoscopes for 11/10:
Cancer:
Your loved one seems very difficult to comprehend at the moment. Don't let this worry you. Don't feel abandoned, or as though your relationship has been given the kiss of death; you just need some time and space to think a few things through, and will be back in top form sooner than you think.

Pisces:
You may feel as though you are being ignored on purpose. You are to an extent, but only because your partner is taking time out to get some much needed space. They want to make the relationship between you work even better, and are taking time to attend to their own issues so that they can give to you more fully and freely. Don't interfere.

Month long:
Cancer:
You like to attract romantic interest, but you resent a lover's interest in any other person. This can create a high degree of drama in your personal life early this month. There's a danger of using sex as a weapon to get what you want. View this as a short-term fix, not a long-term solution. Around November 15, if you're in a situation that's on the edge of break-up, make an effort to understand what your part has been in creating the estrangement. Under the New Moon on November 27, the right person for you will spoil you and make the extra effort to create a romantic mood. Although you can seem rather demanding in your need for attention and affection, a true lover will appreciate that you're more than willing to give the same in return.

Pisces:
It's never easy to generalize about Pisces. There are so many different types born under this sign. Some Pisces are very passionate and pursue intensely physical and erotic love with great enthusiasm. Others born under this sign are spiritual dreamers. If you're this type, you may have more interest in an ideal love, often one that's just out of reach. The real thing may be too stressful and demanding. Still others enjoy love and romance, but aren't broken when it fades and changes. It will be helpful to understand the sort of person you are before you seek to love another. Around the middle of the month your lover can be a wonderful source of inspiration. Sometimes a happy love affair spills over into other areas of your life. This makes everything seem better and easier. The New Moon on November 27 brings you to a kind of crossroads about love and romance. Put your needs first and you won't go wrong.

"Your salary as a pharmacist will be $4300 biweekly, which annualized, equals $111,800.00 based on a 80 hour biweekly schedule."

I can't even fathom that much money.
